Resonate Sustainability Product Development Internship


Resonate LLC is a strategic sustainability management firm serving the Philadelphia and Mid Atlantic region. We work with companies to help them integrate sustainability management practices into business systems, processes, and culture in a way that will further progress towards company goals, drive innovation, enhance brand, and increase profitability. Our process takes companies from education and commitment building within the organization, all the way through the implementation and continuous quality improvement for sustainability initiatives. Resonate is seeking three interns for our 2013 Summer Internship Program. The program will be primarily focused on supporting the development of an online sustainability planning platform for small and medium sized businesses. Specific projects and responsibilities will be dictated by the skills and interests of the candidates accepted into the program, however, the range of possible activities includes research, writing, product testing, business development, and product development. As a result, majors/minors that will be given priority will be those in sustainability, business/entrepreneurship, environmental studies, communications, and computer sciences/web development. Interns will be educated on business sustainability planning and management concepts and given specific direction on topics and resources for their work. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate and share information, tactics, etc. with other interns throughout the internship. Interns will have regular interaction with the principals of Resonate and at the end of the internship will have gained an understanding of: sustainability management concepts sustainability planning and implementation practices how sustainability can be used as a business management practice what strategies companies employ to improve their impact on people and the environment practical hands-­‐on experience in various aspects of new product development 
 The internship requires a commitment of 2.5 days per week for 11 weeks starting the week of June 3rd and ending on August 16th. Applicants will be expected to be able to work fairly independently based on direction and weekly feedback sessions. Strong communication skills are required. Knowledge of sustainability concepts is preferred, but not required. Priority will be given to rising juniors and above. Curiosity, imagination, and a respectful sense of humor and fun are required. Internship Location: Berwyn, PA within walking distance from a Septa regional rail station on the R5 line. Days/Hours: Monday and Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm, Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm.
